The pandemic has truly become the accelerator for one of the greatest workplace transformations of our lifetime: how we attract and hire talent, how we work, where we work, how is our work going to be measured, how do we communicate and manage teams, how do we price our jobs and reward employees¾all of it have been changed forever. From business models to people strategy, things have radically become different and the pace of technology adoption has accelerated at a frenetic pace.

WSG-IHRP’s Job Transformation Map (JTM) for Human Resources mentions that 90% of Singapore HR jobs will be impacted by technology in 3- 5 years. Hence, along with searching for insights into skills that will be crucial for their organizations, HR teams need to rethink their roles and skills of the future primarily.

The webinar “HR Skills & Jobs of the Future” held on 28 October 2021, focused on the future skills & jobs for HR Professionals and on the changing role of HR. The session was organised by hrtech.sg, in association with IHRP & SHRM.

The session provided some great perspectives from subject matter experts, who shared their experiences, and insights on the future-fit HR skills and jobs.

Boon Chong NA, Advisory Partner – Human Capital Solution, Aon, moderated the session and shared his insights on the current state & the future of HR. HR is currently facing the challenge of the great resignation which highlights the urgent need to upskill & reskill the workforce.

Mayank Parekh, CEO, IHRP focused on how technology is changing HR jobs and the key trends that will transform the way work is done in the future.

Aditi Mahadevan Nair, MD, APAC Head of Talent, Learning & Diversity, Citi  shared an HR Practitioner perspective.  The evolution of HR is towards technology & being digital. HR now needs to become a Strategic Business Partner and be absolutely ready to cope with the changes the world is going through. There is an urgent need for the HR function to adopt new future-fit skills to  step up, in order to deliver strong business outcomes in the future too.

Christian VetterFounder & CEO, HRForecast shared an HRTechnology provider’s perspective added that in the Singapore landscape, the highest level of HR future-fit teams are in the Retail, FMCG and Technology segments.
The event’s takeaway was clear: HR teams need to get involved in creating a future-ready workforce that works for today’s new model of work. And to enable this, they need to embrace a digital mindset and equip themselves with the requisite Digital HR skills of the Future.

So how future-fit are you?
